$23 – $72

Join Music in the Mountains for SummerFest 2025 with the opening concert at the Center for the Arts in Grass Valley. Antonin Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, “From the New World”, Op. 95, B. 178, also known as the New World Symphony. This program includes Coleridge Taylor’s Ballade in A Minor. Plus, a favourite of the trumpet repertoire, Joseph Haydn’s Concerto per il Clarino in 1796 for the trumpet feat. Scott Macomber.

Scott Macomber has served as Acting Second Trumpet of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra since 2016 and is an active performer in the Bay Area’s leading ensembles. He frequently appears with the San Francisco Symphony and Ballet Orchestras and holds permanent positions in the Santa Rosa Symphony and California Symphony. An avid chamber musician, Scott collaborates regularly with some of the region’s finest brass and mixed-instrument ensembles. He is also an in-demand recording artist, performing on a wide range of projects from film scores to contemporary classical works. Since 1997, he has been a member of the Music in the Mountains Festival Orchestra. In addition to his performance career, Scott is on the artist faculty at Saint Mary’s College and works as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, specializing in helping musicians and other performers overcome stage fright and optimize their performance experience.
