New World Symphony

Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E Minor (“From the New World”) is a centerpiece of the opening concert on June 25th. Joined by trumpet virtuoso Scott Macomber, the program will also feature Joseph Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto, known for its innovative use of the newly invented keyed trumpet, and Coleridge-Taylor’s energetic Ballade in A Minor, a piece brimming with vibrant orchestral color.
Firebird

MIM’s Orchestra will perform Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, a powerful and evocative ballet that brought the composer international acclaim. Alongside it, celebrated cellist Adelle-Akiko Kearns will perform Elgar’s poignant Cello Concerto in E Minor, a masterpiece reflective of post-WWI introspection. The evening also features works by Jessie Montgomery and Jennifer Higdon, blending the classic with the contemporary.
Copland & Lauridsen: American Splendour

On June 29th, MIM’s Festival Orchestra and Choir will explore the landscape of American music with selections by Copland, Lauridsen, and Williams. Copland’s Appalachian Spring will be paired with Lauridsen’s ethereal Lux Aeterna with fan favorite John Williams’ dynamic Cowboys Overture, encapsulating the diverse American soundscape.
Dessert in the Garden with Brass Over Bridges

To close the festival on July 13th, the delightful Brass Over Bridges quintet will take center stage at a private residence in Grass Valley. Known for their captivating performances, Brass Over Bridges brings charm and artistry to their brass music, creating a memorable evening amidst beautiful gardens, complete with a cocktail hour and lavish dessert buffet.

Ticket Policies
Unable to Attend
Exchanges into a higher-priced performance or seating area may result in a price difference and is the responsibility of the ticketholder. There is no refund for exchanging into a lower-priced event or seating area.
Tickets may also be returned for a tax-deductible donation to Music in the Mountains. Ticket donations must be done in-person or by phone before the event start time.
There are no refunds.
Lost Tickets
Contact Nancy to replace your tickets as soon as possible.
Canceled Event
- Receive a full refund
- Receive a credit toward another Music in the Mountains concert or event
- To convert it to a donation
Refunds are granted only for canceled performances.

Late Seating
Latecomers will be seated at an appropriate pause in the program, as determined by the artist and MIM management.

Center for the Arts
A gorgeous, recently renovated space in downtown Grass Valley. Wonderful acoustics, comfortable seating and great sightlines make this a beautiful place to enjoy great music.
Don Baggett Theatre
Don Baggett Theater is located on the campus of Nevada Union High School. Originally built for theatrical performances, the theater’s seating also allows for exceptional site lines by patrons and excellent acoustics.
Nevada Theatre
The Nevada Theatre is California’s oldest existing theater, in a charming 300 seat historic building. Notable past performers include Emma Nevada, Mark Twain, and The Second City comedy troupe.
Peace Lutheran Church
With lovely acoustics, Peace Lutheran Church is a popular space to perform for both choral and chamber music concerts. Seating is intimate and parking is ample and close.

Your purchase of a ticket is your agreement to comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations and ordinances, and the rules of the venues where our concerts and events take place, including but not limited to, The Grass Valley Center for the Arts, The Nevada County Fairgrounds, and Peace Lutheran Church.
