Ways to Buy Tickets

Online

Tickets can be purchased online by clicking here. Please note that online ticket sales end at 3:00 pm on the day of the concert, but can still be available at the door, unless otherwise noted. Service fees may apply.

In Person

Tickets can be purchased in advance in person at our box office located at:

Ticket Policies

Unable to Attend

Before the event contact our Box Office to exchange tickets for another event within the same season.

Exchanges into a higher-priced performance or seating area may result in a price difference and is the responsibility of the ticketholder. There is no refund for exchanging into a lower-priced event or seating area.

Tickets may also be returned for a tax-deductible donation to Music in the Mountains. Ticket donations must be done in-person or by phone before the event start time.

There are no refunds.

Lost Tickets

The Music in the Mountains Box Office will reissue tickets to the account holder.

Contact Nancy to replace your tickets as soon as possible.

Canceled Event

If a performance is canceled, you will be offered the following choices:

  • Receive a full refund
  • Receive a credit toward another Music in the Mountains concert or event
  • To convert it to a donation

Refunds are granted only for canceled performances.

House Policies

Late Seating

Events start promptly at the time printed.

Latecomers will be seated at an appropriate pause in the program, as determined by the artist and MIM management.

ADA Seating

ADA seating and parking is available at all MIM events with the exception of the historic Nevada Theatre where parking is located in downtown Nevada City.

A gorgeous, recently renovated space in downtown Grass Valley. Wonderful acoustics, comfortable seating and great sightlines make this a beautiful place to enjoy great music.

Don Baggett Theatre

Don Baggett Theater is located on the campus of Nevada Union High School. Originally built for theatrical performances, the theater’s seating also allows for exceptional site lines by patrons and excellent acoustics.

 

Nevada Theatre​

The Nevada Theatre is California’s oldest existing theater, in a charming 300 seat historic building. Notable past performers include Emma Nevada, Mark Twain, and The Second City comedy troupe.

With lovely acoustics, Peace Lutheran Church is a popular space to perform for both choral and chamber music concerts. Seating is intimate and parking is ample and close.

Health and Safety Protocols

Health and safety is our priority.
We work to keep our artists and audience members safe. Your purchase of a ticket is your agreement to comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations and ordinances, and the rules of the venues where our concerts and events take place, including but not limited to, The Grass Valley Center for the Arts, The Nevada County Fairgrounds, and Peace Lutheran Church.

Policies are subject to change – all attendees will receive updated information in an email communication in advance of your event.

Health Guidelines

PLEASE STAY AT HOME IF:

  • You are sick or have any of the following symptoms: fever, sore throat, chills, cough, shortness of breath, congestion, nausea, or vomiting.
  • You’ve been in close contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms within the past 14 days.
  • You’ve been directed to self-isolate or quarantine by a health care provider or public health official.
  • You are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test because you are or have been symptomatic.

If you are feeling sick on the day of a concert, we will give you either a refund or a voucher.

Box Office Safety

Guests will check-in with MIM staff or volunteers at a designated area. Foot traffic patterns will be modified to limit queuing.

Seating & Performance

Music in the Mountains will monitor the active COVID infection numbers as well as vaccination rates to determine the seating capacity for each concert or event. Seats will be assigned and – when warranted – spaces may be left between seats. Please only sit in your assigned seats and follow spacing guidelines.

Indoor performances will last approximately 90 minutes with a short intermission. Guests are asked to remain in their seats during the performance unless using the restroom or leaving the venue early. The bar will be open during the intermission, but mask wearing and social distancing are required when visiting the bar.

Pets are not allowed.

Seating capacity for events will be determined on a per show basis considering legal regulations, COVID case numbers, and vaccination numbers for Nevada County at the time of the show.

Those not following the rules will be asked to comply or leave the premises.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any place where people gather. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By purchasing a ticket, you assume all risks, hazards, and dangers arising from or relating in any way to the risk of contracting COVID-19.

MIM Youth Orchestra

Proof of vaccination is not required for those under 18 years old, but all participants will have to answer a weekly COVID symptoms questionnaire and wear masks at all times, except when playing wind or brass instruments – bell covers are required for wind and brass instruments. A COVID health screening will be done before members can enter The Center for the Arts/Off Center Theater. Adult conductors, teachers, mentors, and family will be required to show proof of FULL vaccination in order to enter in-person rehearsal spaces. See above for acceptable forms of proof of vaccination. Please contact Marge with any questions & to provide your proof of vaccination. Proof of any required booster vaccinations will also be required to prove FULL vaccination.

Mask Wearing

At all venues, attendees, employees, and volunteers will be required, according to the Nevada County Public Health Amended Order of August 25, 2021, to wear masks that cover both your nose and mouth at all times (except when eating and drinking). We will have a limited number of masks available at the door.

Crowd Safety

We encourage you to limit crowd density through physical distancing.

Food & Beverage

The Center for the Arts will be selling beverages and limited snacks during events. Eating and drinking will be permitted in the lobby, and at tables in the theater. Outside food and beverages are not permitted, except bottled water with a lid. No outside alcohol is permitted at Western Gateway Park.

Additional Safety

* State-of-the-art HVAC system to bring in 100% outside air eight times per hour and ensure the cleanest air possible.
* Contactless ticket scanning and purchasing wherever possible.
* Hand sanitizer stations throughout the venue.
* Fully vaccinated staff and volunteers, including instructors in our education programs.
* Extra ushers available to assist with traffic flow in the lobby, concessions area, bathrooms, and elevator.
* Instituted CDC-recommended cleaning practices before, during, and after shows, particularly cleaning of “high touch” surfaces.

Hand Sanitizing

We remind everyone to wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the restroom, blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing, and before eating.  Hand sanitizer will be available at events and performances for your convenience.

Touchless Program

As an additional precaution, programs will be available on the MIM website as a PDF. Before & during the performance, information about the program will also be posted at the venue and announced from the stage.

Performer Safety

The safety of our artists is a top priority. We will be following standards in the industry for safety precautions. These precautions may include but are not limited to face coverings when possible, and social distancing on stage and backstage.
