ryan-murray400Nevada City, CA—Music in the Mountains (MIM) Resident Conductor and Choral Director Ryan Murray, was recently selected as a winner of the 2014 Ansbacher Fellowship for Young Conductors with the Vienna Philharmonic through the American Austrian Foundation.

Mr. Murray will travel to Vienna, Austria in August for 4-weeks so he may observe both rehearsals and performances of the internationally renowned Salzburg Festival. This fellowship provides promising young conductors (30 and younger) from the United States the opportunity to observe the world’s leading conductors and artists at work. Fellows live at Schloss Arenberg, located near the Festival Hall, where they are able to interact with members of the Vienna Philharmonic, the festival orchestra.
