Music in the Mountains Alliance

Volunteer with MIM and make a difference behind the scenes

The Music in the Mountains Alliance is the volunteer group, founded in 1987, that produces MIM’s benefit and hospitality events, along with providing support services such as ushering, parking, office work and assisting with production at the Festivals. Current membership is over 400, led by a Council. The President of the Alliance sits on the Music in the Mountains Board of Directors.

Over the years, the Alliance has raised close to two million dollars, providing 15 percent of the funds needed each year to present our concerts and education programs. Alliance volunteers directly support Music in the Mountains in bringing cultural enrichment to the Sierra Nevada Foothills.

In addition to enjoying great camaraderie working on these events, Alliance members also get together for some wonderful social events – which somehow always include delicious food.

If you would like to join the fun, check out the Volunteer page, click here to download a PDF of the membership application, or call the MIM Business Office at (530) 265-6173 to request an application be sent to you. Mail your completed form to the MIM office, or email it to Membership Chair Diane Swensen at diaswenson@gmail.com. Diane Swensen can also be reached by phone at (530) 432-7700.
