Viva Brasil! The Berkeley Choro Ensemble
The many genres of Brazilian popular music have become immensely popular around the world. From the boisterous rhythms of samba to the cool elegance of bossa nova and the complex jazz improvisations of choro, it’s some of the most exotic and interesting music you’ll find anywhere. Young Musicians Competition Showcase
When it comes to classical music, we’ve seen the future, and it’s very bright. Our next generation of classical musicians has been working hard to learn their instruments and music. Now it’s time for them to show you what they can do. The winners of our Young Musicians Competition will share their talents and compete one last time for best student performance. Students range from grades 3 through 12. Every year we’re more impressed with their dedication and artistic ability.
