“…polished performance…” – NY Times

Nuevo Chamber is the name for this new genre that blends world music influences with a chamber music ensemble, infusing rhythms from Argentina, Cuba, Africa, Jazz, Classical and even Electronica into a new style of music. The Quintet has cemented it’s status as a top world music string ensemble with recent recordings with the Nuevo Flamenco guitarist, Stevan Pasero (Twelve Shades of Night, 2011, Sugo records) and with the Argentine Tango group, Trio Garufa (El Rumor de tus Tangos, 2010, Garufa records), and most recently with their 2012 release, Nuevo Chamber.

MAQ will be in residence with MIM for the Memorial Day weekend, playing a concert for county 4th graders for our Classics for Kids program, performing on their own on Friday night, and joining the MIM Chorus for two performances of “Songs of Peace and Remembrance” over the weekend.

Musical Art Quintet is joined by special guests Mads Tolling, international violinist, composer, and two-time Grammy winner, and Rob Holland on percussion.
